Rose and Smith Islands
Ross and Smith Islands, often referred to as the "Twin Islands" of North Andaman, are a breathtaking pair connected by a natural sandbar that appears during low tide. Located near Diglipur, these islands are known for their pristine beauty, turquoise waters, and lush tropical greenery. The sandbar offers a surreal experience—walking between two islands through crystal-clear, shallow water. Ross Island is covered with dense forest, while Smith Island is more open and equipped with basic eco-tourism facilities like huts and restrooms. The surrounding marine sanctuary is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and spotting vibrant corals and marine life. During nesting season, Olive Ridley turtles can also be seen.
